Purpose and Objectives

The Purpose of the Institute this year is to acknowledge and celebrate our ability as international educators and leaders to continue to build the capacity of everyone in our school systems to accelerate academic, social and emotional development for all within our respective learning environments.

Participants will…

    • Hear and celebrate how numerous schools and districts have embraced the effective active learning principles and practices of the process of Tribes TLC, and are sustaining implementation to the benefit of their students, staff, and families
    • Meet with other school and district leaders to learn how they are using the process of Tribes to train new teachers to achieve effective professional development and systems change
    • Share and learn about global learning experiences with trainers from many regions of the world, including successful initiatives being used in various countries
    • Facilitate or participate in interactive breakout sessions on a variety of meaningful and timely topics, including specialized applications and programs, integration of curriculum, alignment with district or regional initiatives, developing leadership, enhancing the resilience of systems, etc.
    • Experience an overview of the new Tribes TLC Program for Parents, a series of 3 interactive evenings designed to engage parents with each other and the school community, and to enhance their understanding of the use of the process in the classroom and throughout the school
    • Learn about new CenterSource innovations to intensify and sustain the use of Tribes, such as website development, online classes, and specialized training plans
    • Experience an overview of the new online course, Introduction to Social Emotional Learning
    • Learn about a framework for organizing and facilitating Tribes TLC Kids Days for schools
    • Meet with trainers who have facilitated various advanced training plans such as Engaging All by Creating High School Learning Communities, and hear implementation responses and results
    • Learn about the development and educational activities of regional “trainer tribe” groups
    • Have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions to learn how to facilitate various Tribes TLC training plans, such as Artistry for Learning, Discovering Gifts in Middle School, Engaging All by Creating High School Learning Communities, and Tribes TLC After-School and Youth Development Programs
    • Meet, share and learn with colleagues throughout the week to….
