Welcome to class #7.
Throughout each class and the course, you will experience the Tribes TLC® (Tribes) process as you learn it, apply it, and reflect on it. Assignments are designed to answer ‘why, what, and how’ the Tribes process applies to you, your students, your classroom, your school, and your life.
Class #7 Assignments
1) Community Inclusion – Energizer “Two truths and a lie” p. 383 (389 DG; 476 EA)
This is a great and versatile energizer. Write three statements about yourself; two are true and one is not. When giving instructions to students, it is best to model appropriate statements, as well as to model how to make the three statements difficult to guess.
Post how you would review one of the agreements in the directions for this strategy.

Post your two truths and one lie (call it a ‘myth’ if you prefer…or use another word).
We will discover the false statements in the online class!
2) Read Chapter 10 (same for DG; Chapter 14 EA)
Be familiar with the five steps in a TLE (Tribes Learning Experience) and also the strategy ‘Novel in an Hour’ on page 289 (305 DG; 389 EA)
You will experience ‘Novel in an Hour’ in the online class this week.

Download the .pdf, which is a complete listing, or delve into your Tribes folder, find the ‘strategies lists’ and read the ideas and suggestions that have been contributed over the last six sessions of the course.
Choose one suggestion, or create another suggestion…using a Tribes strategy that we have already experienced, either in the forum, or in one of our online classes.
Now, using the 5 Elements in a Tribes Learning Experience TLE (refer to page 143 for an example; 163 DG; or http://teachcommunity.com/2014/04/public-speaking-writing-a-speech/), create your own TLE
Note: The online class this week, ‘Novel in an Hour’ will exemplify a TLE…you may want to wait until that class is over to write your own TLE, since a more forthcoming explanation will happen in the online class, than here, in writing….
