An update from Northern Territories, Australia…
In January during our annual school holidays, 25 staff members from our school attended Tribes basic training for two days, the remaining two days completed in early February. What a buzz this has given our school. We have seen a shift in the mood of the school and a real sense of belonging and inclusion. With seven new teachers, 90% of whom attended, there has been much gratitude expressed at beginning the year with such a practical and enlightening process. Many teachers who attended noted that they have been able to get to know their colleagues at a much deeper level and that they have been able to extend this to the classroom in following the inclusion strategies with their students. Many noticed the calm that ensued in beginning our school year. We are excited for the year ahead and the challenge of maintaining the momentum across our school community.
