It’s August and it’s back to school!
The first two weeks of school is a critical time period – whatever happens tends to become the norm for behavior, procedure, expectations, and policy. The time spent on personalizing your classroom and the people in it, during the first two weeks of school can have a huge effect on the way the quarter, trimester, semester, or year plays out.
Facilitating how your students learn names, understand and practice the agreements, are expected to behave, and get into groups for various tasks…what you do in the first two weeks will either make this an ongoing struggle, or time well spent.
